Fuerza Bruta aims to mesmerize Miami audiences
Fuerza Bruta held a press conference on Wednesday, June 10 to introduce their mind-bending show at the Arsht Center. We were treated to a sneak peek of the multi-sensory explosion and I can tell you, this is one sexy and spectacular show sure to bring in young audiences to experience this mix between aerial theater and a late-night rave.
Fuerza Bruta, officially opening June 11 and playing through July 5, brings a blend sensuality, acrobats, heart-pounding music and dream-like sequences to the Lynn Wolfson Stage at the Ziff Ballet Opera House.
This is not conventional theater and that’s what makes it intriguing. I enjoyed the participatory element of Slava’s Snowshow presented at the Arsht Center last year and Fuerza Bruta brings audience participation to a new level. Using the palm of their hands, viewers can touch the female performers though a clear and shallow pool.
Fuerza Bruta brings “the world’s best acrobats and performers and the best DJs in the World,” said Scott Shiller, Adrienne Arsht Center Executive Vice President. Speaking above the new G lounge, Shiller provided background on the show. “This is the largest production of Fuerza Bruta in North America. The staff has been working almost 24 hours a day.”
We were given a performance preview featuring “the running man” in full throttle; beautiful women cavorting sensually in a Lucite pool just above the audience heads; and the dynamic music that is an essential part of the show.
You can come early or stay late at the G-Lounge by Barton G. I tried many of creative snacks. Any party food that you imagine, the G Lounge has managed to put it on a stick. I tried the corn dog on a stick, taco on a stick, hamburger on a stick, all of which were delicious and surprisingly reasonably-priced. The drinks on a stick where also a fun and original treat. Tonight I will be heading off to the Fuerza Bruta Opening Night show.
